Have a Baby or Young Child With a Cold? Most Don’t Need Medicines : USFDA consumer update

Parents get upset when their infant son/ daughter catches cold. These patients  do not communicate. Parents have to watch for tell-tale symptoms For children below age two, generally there are no approved medicines.
