USFDA Acts to Phase Out Certain Antibiotic Use in Farm animals

We are actually greedy. We feed cattle and poultry and other food producing animals with antibiotics so that they fatten fast  with less food! This has its flip side. The practice  leads into the development of  antibiotic resistance. We must not use antibiotics in areas where it is not medically needed.

The US Food and Drug  Administration (FDA)  is implementing a  voluntary plan with industry  to phase out the use of  certain antibiotics for  enhanced food production. Details of the scheme can be accessed at:
