Hand Sanitizers Carry Unproven Claims to Prevent MRSA Infections

Recently, there has been warnings against the development of antibiotic resistance. Bacteria develop resistance if patients do not complete a course of antibiotics. Patients are not generally aware of the problem.

MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) is a bacterium that can cause severe—even life-threatening—infections that do not respond to standard treatment with the antibiotic methicillin. USFDA has cautioned that hand  sanitizers carry unproven claims to prevent MRSA infections.
